Wood Posts

PermaPost

What makes PermaPostTMsuperior?

Timber Specialties pressure treatment process forces the K-33® CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) preservatives into the wood's cellular structure to provide long-lasting, in depth protection from fungal decay and termites. Properly processed PermaPostTM products can last decades longer than untreated wood posts, which can fail in as little as one year. Independent tests have shown that properly processed CCA treated wood in ground contact, can withstand the attack of fungi or termites for an average of 30 years or more.

Various means used to protect wood from decay and termite attack and their effectiveness:

Brush:
Slight surface penetration which may extend wood's service life 1-3 years.

Dip:
Slightly more penetration, service life prolonged 2-5 years.

Pressure Treated:
In-depth penetration, service life can be extended by decades.

The pressure treating process

Using water as a carrier, the preservatives are locked in the wood. The result is long-term decay protection and a service life that's significantly superior to untreated or painted wood. Unlike oil based treatments, when used as recommended there is no odour, no irritation, no messy surface and no problem around livestock, plants or humans. PermaPosts can be painted or stained if desired.

Strong, Dureable and easy to work Strong, durable and easy to work

PermaPosts retain all the advantages of wood - good looks, strength and workability. They are less expensive, longer lasting and stronger than metal posts. You can set them and forget them. You don't have to worry about constant maintenance to prevent rot or rust at the ground line. It will be decades before you have to consider replacing your PermaPosts.

PermaPostTM Strength

Pressure treated pine PermaPosts will stand up to these approximate, steadily applied loads before breaking.
